Playwriting Australia Script Development 2017
Playwriting Australia has been busy around Australia and doesn’t want you to miss out on the action and opportunities they provide. Applications are now now open for PWA’s first round of script development opportunities for 2017. Playwrights will be considered for Rapid Fire, National Script Workshops and Long Form programs.

National Play Festival: All plays developed through PWA’s script development programs will be automatically considered for the National Play Festival each year. See pwa.org.au/programmes/national-play-festival for more information.
The New Plot awaits you! Closing 31st December.
Presented by 107 Projects and Actors Centre Australia(ACA), The New Plot is a new development award for Australian Playwrights. This initiative has been created to foster professional development for writers and actors to bring new Australian stories to the stage.
Writers are invited to submit their 25-35 minute scripts, with plays to be shortlisted by an expert panel, including Dean Carey, Philip Quast and Stephen Sewell.

The 2017 Griffin Award is now open. Closes 31 December.
The prestigious Griffin Award recognises an outstanding play or performance text that displays an authentic, inventive and contemporary Australian voice, with the winner receiving a $10,000 prize.
The Griffin Award has a long history of recognising new talent and cementing the careers of Australian writers, as the Honour Board of Griffin Award winners attests. Now in its nineteenth year, the Griffin Award is generously supported by Copyright Agency Limited.
