December marks an end of an era at Monkey Baa, as founding Creative Director, Tim McGarry leaves the company to pursue his next adventures. Tim’s final day was Friday 1 December 2017. Monkey Baa writes:

Sandie and Eva will continue as Creative Directors and with their team will continue to create high quality work for young people around the world. For those that know Tim, you would understand wholeheartedly how important he has been to the life of the organisation as one of its founders. In short, he is irreplaceable, and we will miss him dearly. It seems a distant memory that 20 years ago, Tim, Sandie and Eva sat in a Darlinghurst coffee shop to discuss the possibility of creating a theatre company for young people to be known as Monkey Bar. The trio went to the office of Fair Trading to submit paperwork only to discover they could not use the name Monkey Bar. After a quick discussion with the lady at the counter, the name was changed to Monkey Baa, and the rest is history.

Since that time, together with Sandie and Eva, Tim has enjoyed many incredible achievements at Monkey Baa. 30 tours including four international tours, winning 11 awards including the Drover for Touring Legend and five published plays.

TNN wishes the legendary Tim McGarry and Monkey Baa all the very best for 2018
