This intensive 1 day workshop is a rare chance to explore the art of
performing with theatre masks. It is a workshop for actors, scenographers, directors, writers, choreographers and dancers looking to expand their understanding of movement.
Participants will leave the workshop with a foundation in movement analysis as well as skills in playing neutral mask and a range of masks with expressions.
Matteo Destro studied with Jacques Lecoq at the L’École Internationale de Théâtre in Paris and later under the guidance of Donato Sartori. The research and creation of masks and mask theatre would eventually become the heart of his practice. Matteo taught at the Helikos International School of Theatre Creation, directed by Giovanni Fusetti,in Florence, Italy, and has given Master Classes at the University of Iowa, New York University and Victorian College of the Arts. In 2016 he founded ATELIER Mask Movement Theatre, an international school/laboratory for research and theatre creation, in San Miniato, Italy.
