A new name and a new home…
From today Performance 4a will be known as Contemporary Asian Australian Performance (CAAP) – a name that goes directly to the heart of what they’re about complete with a new look courtesy of Sydney creative collective Collider.
This also marks an important new era for the company as we move into our new premises as a Resident Company at Australia’s most significant contemporary multi-arts centre Carriageworks.
While the name has changed the mission remains the same: to create exceptional contemporary Asian Australian performance for all audiences. Through initiatives such as the Asian Australian Performance Directory, the Longhouse Networking Program and the Lotus Playwriting Project (with PWA) CAAP will continue to develop, nurture and champion Asian Australian artists to take their place on main stages nationally and internationally.
