Rebel Wilson & Rose Byrne Scholarships
ATYP is pleased to offer two unique scholarship opportunities for young Australians aged 18–26. Partnering with G’Day USA and the Australian Theatre Company (LA), each recipient will receive $10,000, year-long mentoring with ATYP in Sydney, and the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles, work on a project with the Australian Theatre Company and attend the G’Day USA Gala Dinner in January 2018.
Rebel Wilson has created the Theatremaker Scholarship to be awarded to an emerging artist who is combining more than one skill in the performing arts (writer/performer/designer/director/etc), and Rose Byrne has established her scholarship to be awarded to an emerging female leader in the arts. ATYP Resident Playwright
ATYP is proudly a writer’s theatre company. Each year we invest in the development of playwrights at all stages of their careers, in person and online around Australia. We are proud to offer Australia’s only professional residency for a young adult playwright, and are calling for applications from writers aged 18-26 who would like to become a central part of the ATYP team in 2017.
This position offers a writer a minimum of $20,000 in commissions plus a further $5,000 worth of dramaturgical and workshop support.The position has been established to invest in the development of a writer rather than a specific work, building skills that can lead to a sustained career.
